W.A.L.T. lets us know what our learning goals are for each subject. This section of the website will be updated regularly to show you what we are learning about in class!
What are we learning this week?
Reading
We are learning to:
- ask questions as we are reading so we can better
understandthe text
- understand that questions can be answered with our
hands (the answer is right in the text), head (we use our
background knowledge or information to help us find the
answer) or heart (we use our personal thoughts and
feelings to find the answer)

* an indent
* a topic sentence (the top bun)
* at least 3 detail sentences that support the
topic (the meat, cheese and lettuce)
* an ending statement
- practice writing 5 star sentences

2. End with a period, exclamation mark or
question mark.
3. Use finger spaces.
4. Spell word wall words correctly and
stretch out unknown words.

We are learning to:
- use a variety of paint techniques to create
texture (including sponge painting, bubble painting
and scratching)
- cut up pieces of texutred paper to create
pictures (the technique Eric Carle uses in his
illustrations)
